My Favorite Meal

My favorite meal I ever had was filled with a flavor bash. It was actually a really good meal with how my maid mother cooked it. The best portion was cooked down to a very crisp and tender way where you could also taste all the extra flavors she added. There was also a side that is pretty dirty, which added a lot of needed flavor. When I tasted the second side they tasted very nice and comfortable like they should. The smell of the meal was just full of different amazing smells; you could smell the tenderness of the main course, the sweetness in the second, and the great taste of the third. I honestly don’t have a particular drink for this meal, so it’s to each their own. Nonetheless, this meal has always put me in a good mood. It has always tasted so good no matter what, and I will probably always love it.

3 Wishes

If I could have three wishes, they would be to be successful, live a healthy life, and last but not least have a lifetime supply of strawberry shortcakes.
It’s pretty obvious my wish that would be placed third would be the endless supply of shortcakes. I mean you can only wish to be able to eat at least one strawberry shortcake a day. They’re just so delicious, from the cream and strawberry in the middle to the little swirl. God bless the remarkable human being who invented it. Now that I’m done being an obsessed fan over strawberry shortcakes we shall move on.
Second place would respectfully go to being successful. This one doesn’t bother me the slightest, no matter what career path I drive past, I will always succeed. But we can always wish, right?
This leads me to my numerous Uno biggest wish, a healthy life. This one should arguably be on just about everyone’s list. If you don’t want to have a healthy life then something is partially wrong with you. Who doesn’t want to have a long healthy life like oh, I don’t know…… Betty White? Nonetheless being in great health is the most important wish I could possibly make because I love life and expect to see a lot of it.
Now that you all know what my three wishes would be if I rubbed a genie lamp, tell me what your three wishes would be in the comments.

Two Cents

Every week I want to let readers put their two cents on stories, remedies, or anything out of the ordinary. So I can see what you feel about certain situations and how you handle them.

This week I decided to bring up what else other than myths. This past week I saw something online that talked about the infamous ‘’3 days of darkness’’. There is the read below describing the entire situation. After reading the picture below I want to know how you all feel. Do you think it’s real or just some more fabrication some crazy person keeps trying to put in our heads? Sound off in the comments.

Holiday Seasons

The Holidays has always been a time of the year that makes me happy and filled with joy. The Holiday season has always been my favorite time of the year. It’s the decorations and just how happy everyone is at the time of the year. Not having to go to school is the biggest plus to the winter school break. Most people can see their family year round so I’m sure it wouldn’t hurt them. The thing that gets me the most into the moment is definitely the music and decorations. Everything just feels so animated and magical, which is amazing in my eyes. I’ve always loved looking at people’s decorations and seeing how unique some people are with it. Some of my favorite decorations to see were always the really bright flashy lights. I have a strange obsession with lights, so I was always fascinated with the green, red, or any other colored lights. Christmas is obviously one of my favorite Holidays. I want you all to sound off what you love about Christmas and how you like to spend it!

2013 Grammy Nominations

Last night marked the nomination special for the 55th Annual Grammy Awards. Exciting, right? Just keep reading and find out. I strictly want to talk about the nominations since the performances had thrown me off, from when the show opened with Taylor Swift beat boxing. Any who, speaking of Taylor she co-hosted the festival alongside LL Cool J in her hometown of Nashville, TN.
The first nominations of the night were ''Best Pop Vocals''. The nominees were:  Kelly Clarkson’s Stronger, Florence + the Machine Ceremonials, Fun. Some Nights, Maroon 5 Overexposed and Pink The Truth About Love. I don't keep up too much with pop music. But Pink is always a fine singer so that's a plus.

Sheryl Crow and Chris Young announced the ''Record of The Year'' nominees which were:  “Lonely Boy” by Black Keys, “Stronger” by Kelly Clarkson, “We Are Young” by fun. Featuring Janelle Monae, “Somebody I Used To Know” by Gotye, Frank Ocean’s “Thinkin Bout You” and, of course, Taylor Swift for “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together.” Of course the camera shoots to Taylor to see her reaction. And, of course she has her general ''shocking'' expression as if she just won the lottery. Nonetheless, she shouldn't expect to win as her nominated song is not even Grammy worthy. On the bright side it's nice to see Frank Ocean and Kelly Clarkson nominated.

''Best New Artist'' was next on the agenda and the nominees were the following: Alabama Shakes, fun, Hunter Hayes, the Lumineers and Frank Ocean. I literally only knew two out the five that were nominated. Of course the Grammys are a lot more critical when it comes to actual ''talent''. But nominating artist that the viewers actually know wouldn't hurt.

''Song of The Year'' followed as the nominees: ''Call Me Maybe'' by Carly Rae Jepsen, ''Adorn'' by Miguel, ''We are Young'' by fun, ''Stronger'' by Kelly Clarkson, and ''The A Team'' by Ed Shearan. Not a bad category as I can agree with who were nominated.

The biggest award of the night ''Album of The Year'' consisted of the following nominees: The Black Keys ‘’El Camino’’, fun ‘’Some Nights’’, Mumford and Sons ‘’Babel’’, Frank Ocean ‘’Channel Orange’’ and Jack White ‘’Blunderbuss’’. Yeah, the names alone could put me to sleep. Can' say I agree or disagree with this one as I have not heard none these albums.

Of course we can't talk about nominations without mentioning the snubs. I honestly cackled when Justin Bieber and Nicki Minaj fans raided the internet over their favorites not being nominated. Something people will have to understand is, the Grammys nominate off of talent. Being popular and putting out mediocre music is not worthy.

At the end of the night there was a six way tie for the top number of nominations: fun, Jay-Z, Dan Auer Bach of The Black Keys, Mumford & Sons, Frank Ocean and Kanye West lead the nominations with six apiece.

Head over to the Grammys official website for the complete list of nominations. The 55th Annual Grammy Awards air Sunday, Feb. 10th.

Grace of Social Media

Social media has been the main effect of many celebrities one of the main starlets I can think of is Lindsay Lohan. Lindsay has been the epitome of how being caught in a club doing something scandalous can play a major role in your life. After being caught on camera and photos being drunk and probably high on some substances, Lindsay was being displayed in every part of social media. From websites constantly showing her every step, and the way she would practically set herself up. Lindsay was pretty much doomed with the social media thing from day one.

Another star who’s suffered from social media is Britney Spears. Miss Spears was not always in the news for bad things. She became famous as a teen star, fast forward years and years later. She is a mother of two and was going through a pretty crazy divorce from then husband Kevin Federline.  To say Britney went crazy after that is an understatement. The social media would catch Britney hanging out with the likes of Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan while going out partying and being caught without underwear on. Yikes. Tmz would pretty much stalk Britney’s entire life, following her every move. Thankfully, a stint in rehab would reshape Brit’s life together since as of now she’s as healthy and normal as ever.

The next star on my list would have to be Chris Brown. To say social media has been an influence in his life would pretty much define him. As we all know the infamous incident between Then (or I guess you can even say now) girlfriend Rihanna. I’m pretty sure I don’t have to go into detail what happened. So, yeah social media places from Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, etc. People would express how much they truly dislike Brown. Anything from hate messages to death threats (bit much). Although I can’t say he didn’t bring attention to himself like when he busted out a window after an interview on ‘’Good morning America’’. Either way social media has definitely been a great part of his life.

You can’t really have a scandalous list without Lady Gaga. Now, even though I don’t really think Gaga has done anything too scandalous (at least not yet). Gaga has definitely brought tons of social media attention to herself. The woman has made being and acting weird some type of trend. Let’s face it; many celebs more than likely based their new found weird dressing style off of Gaga. Not to mention how much she has inspired so many of her fans through Twitter and Facebook. She has definitely saved many lives with her inspirational style.

My last celeb I am exposing will be the infamous Kardashians family. Normally when a not so famous celeb puts out a sex tape it gets talked about for about a month or two, defining the whole fifteen minutes of fame quote. But to say this family has token fifteen minutes to a whole two hours would be an understatement. These people are arguably the most talked about family in the world. This is pretty sad to admit, I don’t condone sex tapes. But if it gets you this famous then I say take it and shoot to the stars like the Kardashians have done.

Fashion's Legacy

1800’s Fashion

During the years of the 1800’s, fashion was very strict. Especially for women they were always covered up from top to bottom. Back in that time a woman showing skin would be distasteful and not of culture or tradition. The men were pretty much always in working attire, whatever your occupation was that’s how you dressed. Outfits that regular old men wore were long lace coats with trousers and boots. Fashion in the 1800’s were pretty much very reserved and showed how conservative people were back at the time.

1900’s Fashion

The 1900’s was definitely a roller coaster ride when it came to fashion. It started out pretty much similar to the 1800’s conservative look. But, that would quickly change as clothes started to develop more and more. Once the Civil War ended in the late 1930’s women felt the need to show a little skin as pinup girls started to become popular and women wore revealing bathing suits. Men would also become more modern by wearing sharp suits and having mainly accessories like he cigar.

By the 1950’s women hit up a notch as Hollywood actresses such as Marilyn Monroe, Elizabeth Taylor, and Grace Kelly as being a sex symbol became a trade mark for women. You would see women showing more skin than you could imagine, and in films women were being used to sell a lot of skin.

When the 80’s came about huge pop stars and rock bands like Madonna, Michael Jackson, Poison, and many more were becoming trend setters and setting a revolution. They did that by wearing clothes that most people would be afraid to wear out their house, and constantly proving how much fashion had come along. The 80’s definitely set the tone for when the 90’s came around.

The 90’s was all about attitude, this was when teens became true rebels and wore whatever came to mind. There were hundreds on people, T.V. shows, and movies that inspired a whole world that decade. Shows like ‘’Saved by the Bell’’, ‘’Beverly Hills 90210’’, ‘’In Living Color’’, and ‘’The Fresh Prince of Bell Air’’ teens (and adults) were mesmerized by the fashions that would set a trend. Music also had a strong influence as Hip Hop was starting to truly make a mark. Musicians like TLC, Biggie, Tupac, Green Day, Nirvana, Fugees, Brandy, and Missy Elliot would all make huge fashion trends in the 90’s. The 90’s as a whole was full of innovative fashions including jean jackets, baggy pants, and cool sneakers.

2000’s Fashion

Once the 90’s was rolling out, the 2000’s were coming in strong. For young girls looking older and sexier was the in style. As pop singers like Britney Spears, Beyoncé, and Christina Aguilera were all wearing the low rider jeans with the pierced belly buttons, and ugg boots. For guys the saggy pants, frosted tip hair, and vests were pretty popular. By the mid-late 2000’s fashion was becoming more toned down as for young teen girls they were admiring Disney starlets like Hilary Duff, Raven Symone, Miley Cyrus, etc. Older girls were even bringing back outfits from the 80’s and 90’s and making them popular again like colored tights, leather jackets, cowboy boots, etc. Men would also get in on the action bringing back the cardigans, leather jackets, etc.

One thing is sure, fashion definitely improved from the start of 2000 towards the end.

My Fashion

The way I view fashion is how people personally like to dress. Fashion to me is like an opinion, everybody has one. You see people who dress up in the gothic look you see women in their glam look and guys who may like to dress as women. Nonetheless, it’s their style. Basically I feel fashion is just something every person has whether it’s good or bad.

T.V. Legend Passes Away.

Over the weekend news broke that actor Larry Hagman, famous for his roles on ‘’I Dream of Jeannie’’ and ‘’Dallas’’, has died of cancer at the age of 81.

Larry Hagman was well-known to viewers for his role as Major Tony Nelson on the 60s hit sitcom, but the actor’s tenure on Dallas was one of the defining roles of the 1980s. Hagman, a Texas native himself, played the central character JR Ewing on the watershed network drama, and the “who shot JR?” storyline emerged as one of the decade’s most memorable pop-culture clichés.

Thanksgiving Break

Let me start by saying I hope everyone had magnificent Thanksgiving weekend. My Thanksgiving weekend was nice and I had lots of fun. Of course the food I ate was amazing. Luckily I’m not a black Friday shopper so I can’t speak on that. If it’s anything like how they show on the T.V. then I’m not interested. So, tell me how your Thanksgiving weekend went in the comments!

This Thursday will mark the day to truly be thankful. As Thanksgiving approaches we will all gobble away and eat like there's no tomorrow. So, Happy Thanksgiving to everyone! P.S. try to refrain from fighting come Black Friday.

American Music Awards 2012 Redux

Last night held the 40th anniversary of the American Music Awards at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles. Even though the AMA’s are one those less cared about award shows, there was quite chatter about it.  So, of course I just had to give my humble opinion on how good or bad I thought it was.

We kicked the show off with the award for best pop/rock male artist. The award would wind up going to absolute no one’s surprise Justin Bieber. Something that really stood out in Bieber’s acceptance speech was this quote he made “I want to say this is for all the haters who thought I was just here for one or two years. I feel like I'm going to be here for a very long time”, I’m never too fond of when celebrities use the word ‘’hater’’ but I will just pretend as if he just didn't say it.

The next award of the night was for best female country artist, and once again not to anyone’s surprise Taylor Swift would win. I’ve never had a problem with Taylor, but she always does this thing when she wins awards where she puts on the most shocking facial expressions. After a while you should really be use to winning awards, and not acting like an eight year old who just won an award for perfect attendance. Nonetheless from what I hear this is her eleventh AMA award. So next year Taylor, please don’t act so shocked.

Nicki Minaj would win the award for best rap/hip hop album. Personally I could care less about Minaj, although you can’t deny her rather large fan base. But, if you notice how the awards are going pretty much all the winners tonight have large fan bases. Then again I guess that’s what happens when you let little kids choose whose the best ‘’talent’’.

Moving on to other important things about the show, the performances! Taylor Swift would perform a song from what I would assume is off of her new album ‘’Red’’ called ‘’I Knew You Were Trouble’’.  All I can truly remember about her performance is that she changed more than once, next.

Speaking of a major wardrobe change, Christina Aguilera went from a Lotus flower to trailer trash in literally one minute and twenty five seconds. I guess that would take talent, right? Any who Justin Bieber would sing an acoustic version of his song ‘’As Long As You Love Me’’ and I didn’t know what was going on because as he was singing his face was turning red. Well, he also performed some song with Nicki Minaj as they were even awkwardly grinding on one another on stage.

Nicki would also perform a new song of hers called ‘’Freedom’’ where she resembled the Abominable Snowman.

Luckily not every performance were about flashy outfits and sexual dancing. Stevie Wonder gave a touching tribute to Dick Clark, and Kelly Clarkson did a pretty good medley containing songs from her entire career. But, there were a lot of performers who sounded just down right horrific singing live. It started right off gate, with Usher who sounded like he was singing from a bottom of a well. Poor little Carly Rae Jepsen just had absolutely no stage presence what so ever.

The top performance of the night in my opinion had to go to Pink, who creatively reenacted the entire video of her song ‘’Try’’. The performance was just so ballsy and daring something you don’t see in most pop singers these days.

I strongly feel she should’ve had the most buzzed about performance. But yet, we still had Psy’s collaboration with MC Hammer of all people who I sadly feel got the most attention. If you haven’t heard ‘’Gangnam Style’’ then you would not really know who or what I’m even talking about and I refuse to explain.

The biggest shocker of the night had to be Carly Rae Jepsen beating out One Direction for best new artist. In fact One Direction lost all three of their nominations, life’s rough. Bieber was the man of the night. Winning all three of the awards he was nominated for including artist of the year. Welp, I can only imagine how discouraging it may be for the other artists nominated to have to lose artist of the year to Justin Bieber of all people. I will give him credit for closing his speech on rather positive note for mentioning how his date was his mom. The only problem was he didn’t close the show, Psy and MC Hammer did.

Nonetheless the awards are in the history books whether you love it or hate it. Personally I disliked it, from the performances to the awards. Everything just felt like a huge mess. In fact pretty much all the awards shows this year felt like a mess. I can only hope things will go up from here.

Welcome to the world twins Barack Obama and Mitt Romney. (Yes, you read that right)

Remember when I said in my about me blog that there would sometimes be unordinary blogs? Well, now you will get one of those unordinary blogs. A young Kenyan mother has named her newborn twin sons after the U.S. president-elect and his defeated Republican challenger.
Millicent Owuor, 20, gave birth to Barack Obama and Mitt Romney on Wednesday at the Siaya District Hospital in southwest. Apparently the young mom wanted to name her newborns of the 2012 election.
Obama visited sub-Saharan Africa just once during his first four years as president—a stop of less than a day in Ghana, according to Reuters.
If Obama does visit Kenya, maybe baby Barack can meet his namesake and baby Mitt meet the U.S. president.
I'm still crossing my fingers that the next pregnant woman with twins will name her twins Joe Biden and Paul Ryan.

Happy Birthday Bram Stoker

Perhaps it’s blasphemous to say so, like driving a stake through his art, because Abraham “Bram” Stoker wrote numerous novels (many now read as dated) and short stories (some hold up fine) and nonfiction (noted) and theater reviews (incisive enough to win a vital friendship). But Stoker never again concocted the exquisite literary elixir quite the way he did with his sublime story of “Dracula. “Stoker was born just outside Dublin in 1847, a period when millions of starving countrymen would walk dying and gaunt and haunted looking through Ireland during the Great Potato Famine. Stoker himself was a sickly child till about age 7, largely confined to indoors, and his mother would fill the bedridden boy with dark stories of shadowy figures from Irish folklore -- sparking his imagination before he suddenly became strong and athletic by adolescence (one biographer called him a “red-haired giant”). Some say it is these vivid childhood tales, and not real-life Romanian warrior Vlad the Impaler, that actually inspired the bloodthirsty Dracula. Of course not to sound clichéd, but the rest is history.

Obama retains his presidency in a grueling battle.

President Obama overcame a bad economy, high unemployment and a fractured political landscape to win a second term in the White House Tuesday night, defeating challenger Mitt Romney by taking several key battleground states and denying him any inroads in traditional Democratic bastions. The Northeastern states all stayed in Obama’s column by huge margins, but he also took at least six of the nine swing states, including all-important Ohio, bringing the 51-year-old president over the 270 electoral votes he needed to win, according to unofficial returns. In an e-mail to supporters, Obama said, "You organized yourselves block by block. You took ownership of this campaign five and ten dollars at a time. And when it wasn't easy, you pressed forward. I will spend the rest of my presidency honoring your support, and doing what I can to finish what we started. “Romney in a short concession speech wished the president well. “This is a time of great challenges for America and I pray the president will be successful in guiding the nation," said Romney, who thanked his running mate, Paul Ryan, his volunteers, his family and his wife. In a victory speech early this morning, Obama looked toward the future. “While our road has been hard, though our journey has been long, we have picked ourselves up," he said. "We have fought our way back and we know in our hearts that for the United States of America, the best is yet to come." Nonetheless Obama will be our President for another four years. So congratulations to Obama and here’s to hoping our nation gets better through the years.

The Walking Dead Write - Up ''Killer Within''

On last night's episode of The Walking Dead, to say what happened shocked me would be an understatement. Never in a millions years would I have expected things to turn out the way they did. Of course as mind blowing as it was, its also disturbing thinking back to it.
Okay. Now, let’s begin and allow the tears to flow if necessary, because Sunday night involved the most emotionally upsetting development we’ve ever witnessed in AMC’s version of zombie land. First of all, let’s talk T-Dog who has arguably been the most famously underdeveloped character on “The Walking Dead.” His trajectory on the show can succinctly be described like this: Fight with Merle so that Merle ends up chained to a roof (Season 1); after becoming light-headed due to an injury, deliver monologue that implies everyone around him may also be as racist as Merle (Season 2); kill a lot of zombies (all seasons); argue in favor of letting Axel and Oscar the prisoners join the group (Season 3). I was so excited when T-Dog expressed his opinions about the inmates. “Yeah!” I thought. Now that Dale’s gone, maybe T-Dog can become the new Conscience-in-Chief of Grimes Central, which means the guy will finally get to say actual lines of dialogue in multiple episodes. Roughly 30 minutes later, the dude was dead. After getting bitten on the shoulder by a walker a place that, unlike Hershel’s leg is tough to isolate and remove from the rest of the body he sacrificed himself to additional zombies so that Carol could run away and survive. “Go!” he shouted. “I’m dead!” What he was really saying was: “Go! They are never going to adequately develop my character, so I may as well turn myself into an all-you-can-eat buffet for the undead! T-Dog, we hardly knew you. No. Really we hardly did. And that makes your death a real shame. As for Carol, Daryl and Rick assumed she had died, too. But I am not so sure. I think she’s still upright and breathing somewhere in that prison.
Sadly, no longer upright or breathing is again, SPOILER ALERT, and last time I’m going to say it Lori Grimes, a wife and mother who has often been the subject of intense Internet criticism but whose demise during childbirth was a wrenching gut punch. The struggle to keep composure when she said goodbye to her son Carl “Don’t let the world spoil you. You’re so good,” she said through her agony was one that many “Walking Dead” fans undoubtedly lost last night, even the ones who only watch to track the number of eyeball stabbings per week. Sarah Wayne Callies, who has thanklessly played Lori for 2 1/2 seasons, played her final scene in such a heart wrenching way.
Like I mentioned before, her character was always criticized for being an unfit mother for rarely watching little Carl. But Lori Grimes was living in desperate, zombie times. You try being pregnant and bunking with strangers while your son recovers from a gunshot wound, and you try to process how, exactly, your husband woke up from his coma. It’s not easy. Lori Grimes didn’t make it look easy, either. She wasn’t going to win any “mother of the year awards,” as she herself noted. But she was a woman who loved deeply, tried her best and, when it really counted put her children first so they could have something resembling a future. So salute her today. Don’t hate. And say a prayer for the two Grimes men: Rick, who looked completely shattered by the horrible news, and Carl, a kid who was forced to shoot his own mother in the head so she wouldn’t revive and turn into a walker. I don’t think there’s a term on the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders that covers what that does to a boy. But I have to think that it will psychologically mess him up and that we’ll have to keep a close eye on him in coming episodes. That’s right, Lori Grimes. We’re watching Carl for you. Rest in peace.

American Horror Story Redux: "Nor'easter"

American Horror Story was never really a show that I could even imagine would attract me. But, I must say the show is pretty darn interesting. Have you have ever seen those YouTube videos of random animals giving birth? Yes. It's exactly like that. Creepy and disturbing yet interesting and it keeps you on the edge of your seat. And this week's episode pretty much described just that. As if the institution for the "criminally insane" weren't bad enough for using corporal punishment to "cure" inmates for violating social mores, a wicked nor'easter literally brings out the devil in Sister Eunice -- and her cohorts at the asylum. During Wednesday's American Horror Story, Lily Rabe's gentle nun was revealed to be the devil in disguise, as she murders one of the more religious inmates, stabbing her repeatedly with a scissors and taking her remains into the forest near the facility and feeding one of Dr. Arden's (James Cromwell) creatures. As if that weren't enough, she's also having fun psychologically torturing Sister Jude (Jessica Lange) for the 1949 hit and run that prompted her to give up booze and devote her life to the church. After Jude confronts Arden about Eunice presents her with a tube of her old lipstick, Jude and Arden clash, with the screwy doc deeming Eunice as being "corrupted" by Briarcliff. All in all this week's episode was pretty sadistic. Look out for next week's episode (I sure will) as you can also find another recap from yours truly. Until then, Randolph Out!
